Electrical Engineering Laboratory


The Electrical Engineering Laboratory is one of six laboratory departments of the School of EECE. It is situated on the second floor of the North Building where two laboratory rooms, N200 and N202, are located, and another newly acquired laboratory room at NW204 on the second floor of the Northwest Building.

Operation and maintenance of the Department are the responsibility of four full-time laboratory technicians and a laboratory Head.

The EE Laboratory Department is equipped with state-of-the-art AC/DC Circuits Trainers, AC/DC Machine Trainers and a Transmission Line Simulator.

MultiSim and Tina Pro schematic circuit simulators are available to students taking Circuits 1 and Circuits 2 while students taking AC/DC Machinery subjects have the option to perform experiments with or without computer interfacing.

A newly offered laboratory subject for electrical engineering students concentrates on motor control with emphasis on starting of motors, speed and torque control using thyristor drives and inverter drives as applications of their studiers of silicone controlled rectifiers or diodes, transistors, thyristors and GTO thyristors.

Electrical Engineering students taking the lecture subject on transmission line can verify single phase and three-phase transmission line problems in the laboratory using the transmission line simulator.

AC/DC ammeters, voltmeters and wattmeters of all laboratories in Mapua Tech can be calibrated in the EE Laboratory through the Techserve Office.



Electrical Engineering Laboratory


The Electronics Laboratory is one of the instructional laboratories under the School of EECE. These are two adjacent rooms that are equipped with variety of test instruments that are commonly used in the electronics industry. We are currently using a variety of circuit boards that need only few connections to operate and perform. This way, the students can experiment more given the same amount of time. With this set up, students are given more time to design projects that would apply whatever knowledge they gained from previous experimentation.



Communications Laboratory


A Laboratory Facility under the School of EECE whose primary function is to cater to EcE students their Communications Laboratory subjects namely: ELFT411L, ELFT441L, ELFT511L and ELFT531L. This laboratory can be found at the second floor of the North building (N205).



Instrumentation and Control Laboratory


The Instrumentation & Control Laboratory (iRC Lab) of the School of EECE is established as an instructional facility but it also serves as training center for faculty members and graduate students. Its focus is on Industrial Automation and Process Control.



Computer Laboratory


The CpE Computer Laboratory is located at the 2nd floor of North West building inside the Mapua Intramuros Campus. The CpE Lab currently have three(3) rooms each equipped with 30 branded personal computers running on Microsoft Windows2000 operating system. All computers are networked using MIT's gigabit Ethernet connection using Cisco switches and routers with full internet connectivity.

Currently, there is a total of 90+ computers that service the computing needs of the entire EECE studentry. All lab classes implement a one-pc-per-student policy and all rooms are properly ventilated for better learning atmosphere. The three lab rooms are all located in the North building at rooms N201, N203 and N306. Lab rooms are operational seven(7) days a week from 730am up to 9:00pm as supported by 2 full-time and 3-student lab assistants.



Microprocessors Laboratory


The Microprocessor Laboratory (Microlab) of the School of EECE is an established instructional facility. However, during quarter breaks, it also serves as training center for faculty members who desire to establish a specialization in line with Microlab courses. Its focus is on the courses: Basic and Advance Logic Circuits Design & Switching Theory, Microprocessors, PC Hardware Troubleshooting and Signals, Spectra & Signal Processing.
